Many of us suffer from acid reflux. Are you one of them? There are ways to help you with this condition. One is a special acid reflux diet. This diet will help to ease some of the symptoms you suffer from with this condition. There are some foods that you need to completely eliminate from your diet.
Some foods you should be able to eat occasionally. Don’t get discouraged because there are some foods that you will still be able to enjoy while on a special acid reflux diet. It’s important that when you begin you keep a diary of the food you eat for at least 2 weeks.
It will give you and your doctor an idea of how to begin your personal treatment plan. This diet should have you feeling better very soon. You will be able to eat your meals and not feel the pain of heartburn and other acid reflux symptoms. Just be sure to stay away from the foods that will trigger those symptoms and you will feel so much better.
Foods You Can Eat
Fruit: You should be able to eat fruits such as apples, apple juice and bananas. There is a very good chance that these fruits can be eaten without having any of the heartburn or other acid reflux symptoms. Vegetables: Broccoli, carrots, green beans, peas and baked potato’s are some food you can include in your acid reflux diet. Protein: You should be able to enjoy steak and chicken (if it is skinless), egg whites and fish with no added fat. You can also have any type of egg substitute. There are many kinds of whole grains you can enjoy and some dairy.
While keeping your food diary you will learn quickly what foods to avoid in the future. You will also learn what foods will agree with you and help you to avoid the pain of acid reflux. Be sure to consult with your doctor about your acid reflux diet. He may have more ideas of foods you can have or avoid and still get the nutrition you need.
